There has been no permanent, always-on space where this community can find each other, trade with each other, and sell to the world on their own terms.

I'm a Cape Flats native with a deep investment in what this community has always been capable of producing. Over the years I've watched extraordinary talent be extracted. They are celebrated without being compensated, visible without being valued. Koppel is the platform I wished existed.
Not a charity, not a festival that comes around once a year; a permanent, working infrastructure that belongs to the people it serves. I'm currently building the community database, mapping the ecosystem, and having real conversations with the community before writing a single line of code. Koppel gets built with and by the Flats, not for it.
